Junior FFA Activities 2022-2023
Below are photos and descriptions of all the FFA activities we participated in during the 2022-2023 school year.
Back to School Picnic
FFA members were invited to the Dewitt County 4H Fairgrounds for a picnic to kick off the 2022-2023 school year. The Clinton FFA Boosters provided a wonderful meal, the Clinton FFA Officer Team conducted a meeting and updated FFA families on upcoming events, lawn games were avaliable to play, and past FFA apparel was avaliable for purchase. It was a great start to the new year.
Section 16 Horse Judging CDE
On September 7th, 2022 Junior High FFA Members participated in the Section 16 Horse Judging CDE hosted in Sullivan, IL.

2022 Plot Harvest
On November 6th, 2022 students were able to learn about operating farm machinery and calculating crop yield. Thank you to the Carter, Burton, and Toohill families for making this such a memorable learning experience for all of the students!

Public Speaking Contest
On January 24th Clinton FFA hosted the Section 16 Public Speaking Contest. Junior High FFA members assisted the High School FFA members by being room runners and door greeters. Our very own Paisley Schick competed in the Creed Speaking Contest.
Public Speaking Volunteers

Creed Speaking Contest
Paisely Schick participated in the Creed Speaking Contest. She placed 5th Overall. Great Job Paisley!
FFA Week
National FFA Week --- Clinton Junior High celebrated FFA Week on February 21st - 24th. Throughout the week we collected pop tabs for the Ronald McDonald House. We also hosted the 1st annual Tie-Dye Night, where FFA members had the opportunity to dye a shirt to wear on Friday.

Illinois Beef Expo - Livestock Judging Contest
On February 24th three Junior High FFA members participated in the Illinois Beef Expo Contest hosted at the Illinois State Fairgrounds. At this event there were 342 total contestants with 166 of those contestants competing as an FFA member.
Junior High Livestock Judging Team
Three Junior High FFA members participated in the first Livestock Judging Contest. The JH Team placed 29th. Pictured above from left to right are Lexi Merriman, Paisley Schick, and Preston Howell.
Lake Land Livestock Judging Contest
On March 11th, Junior High FFA members participated in the Lake Land Livestock Judging Contest hosted at Lake Land College.
Junior High Livestock Team

JV Livestock Judging Reasons Team

Waterloo Livestock Judging Contest
On March 18th, Junior High FFA members participated in the Waterloo Livestock Judging Contest hosted by Waterloo FFA.
WIU Livestock Judging Contest - Macomb, IL
On March 24th, the Livestock Judging Team traveled to Western Illinois University for the WILeatherneck Livestock Judging Contest in Macomb, Illinois.
Section 16 Livestock Judging Contest
On April 6th the Livestock Judging Team participated in the Section 16 Livestock Judging Contests in Taylorville IL, hosted by Taylorville FFA.
The Livestock Judging Team
The Junior and Senior Livestock Judging Team both Reasons and Non-Reasons teams competed at the Section 16 Livestock Judging Contest. Junior Members included Preston Howell, Audrey Holland, and Lexi Merriman.
The Reasons Team
Paisley Schick Participated as a member of the Reasons Livestock Judging Team. The reasons team placed 2nd overall.
Illinois Community College Livestock Judging Contest
On April 15th, 2023 The Livestock Judging Team traveled to East Peoria for the Illinois Central College Livestock Judging Contest.
The Livestock Judging Team
Preston Howell and Audrey Holland participated in the Jr Questions Division at ICC in East Peoria. Preston Howell placed 21st out of 75 individuals & 18th in swine. Audrey Holland placed 25th overall out of 75 individuals & 8th in swine.
Illinois Association FFA Middle School Conference
On April 27th, five Junior High FFA members were selected to attend the first ever Illinois FFA Middle School Conference hosted at Lincoln Land Community College in Springfield, IL. Some students reflected on their experience oat theis conference see their experiences here -
Clinton FFA Banquet
On May 14th, Clinton FFA hosted our annual end-of-year banquet at Clinton High School in the commons and auditorium. The banquet meal was provided and served by the Clinton FFA Boosters. The Clinton FFA Officer Team conducted a meeting and celebrated all of the accomplishments of the Clinton FFA members throughout the 2022-2023 academic year.
Planting Mums With Mariah
On June 10th, Junior High FFA members helped plant 10,000 mums at Triple M Farms: Mariah's Mums & More.
Illinois FFA State Convention
On June 13th - 14th, Junior High FFA members attended the 95th Annual Illinois FFA Association State Convention in Springfield Illinois.
2023 Middle School State Horse Judging Team

2023 Top Middle School Individual
Olivia Hawkins was the top Middle School individual, which means she scored the best in state at the State Horse Judging CDE hosted at Blackhawk College.
